Our Workshops

Welcoming, nonjudgmental, supportive, open to all experience levels.

Room to Write: A Women’s writing group

Who it’s for: Anyone who wants room in their lives to write.

What we’ll do: After quick introductions, we’ll move through two cycles of a brief meditation or movement exercise, followed by a writing prompt to explore different ways to inspire creativity. We’ll take a quick bio break, do a short movement exercise or a bit of yoga and finish our time together with open time to work on whatever we would like.

When: Weekly on Wednesdays from 11am-12:30pm EDT (UTC-4)

Where: Via Zoom

Why:  We believe you deserve room in your life to write whether you’re writing for yourself or for publication. Room to Write offers a place to land every week devoted to you, your words, and a community of supportive women writers. We’ll anchor our writing time with embodiment practices to keep our work rooted in our intentions and guided by our innate wisdom—and to help release the tension that builds in the hands, neck, shoulders, and back as we sit and write.

Contribution: Your presence. We do gratefully accept donations (we suggest between $5 – $15) Please contact us for details and to register.

Get It Done! A Room to Write Intensive – Tuesday AM

Who it’s for: Anyone with a writing project of any kind.

What we’ll do: After brief introductions, we’ll settle in to our bodies with a short meditation and some gentle movement. Then we’ll dig into a writing prompt or two to help you get into “the zone” for productive writing. We’ll have several periods of focused writing time separated by brief yoga and/or meditation exercises to help you get and stay grounded and tap into the wisdom within.

When: Tuesday, November 17, 10am-1pm EST (UTC-4) This workshop will be facilitated by Tracie Nichols.

Where: Via Zoom

Why:  Whatever project you’re working on—whether you want to get it started, are already knee-deep, or need a final push to wrap it up—this intensive will give you an extended period of focused writing time in a supportive community of writers. We’ll anchor our writing time with embodiment practices to keep our work rooted in our intentions and guided by our innate wisdom—and to help release the tension that builds in the hands, neck, shoulders, and back as we sit and write.

Contribution: $33. A limited number of scholarships are available. Please use the form below to register and we will send you payment details.

In the comments, let us know if you are facing any particular writing challenge or if you really just need room to write. This will help us tailor writing prompts and embodiment exercises to our session.

One of the brightest spots of my week is participating in the Room to Write writing group. There’s a balance in the structure that brings together what I’m feeling in my body, what I’m thinking about, what’s happening in the world and fuses all of that into words on a page — words that I didn’t realize were lurking around waiting to come forward! Thank you Tracie and Elizabeth for creating this magnificent space!
